Description

This image has the other two small nebulosity of the southern cross region, they are GUM 45 (RCW 69)and 46 (RCW 46). The image has a boost in red colour, so other regions of gas can be observed. One of them, RCW 69 or GUM 45 has been identified as a double planetary nebula, according to D.J. Frew et al, Mon. Not. R. Astron. Soc. 372, 1081-1092 (2006), they indicate: "...These nebulae were previously classified as H II regions, but we now show them to be two of the largest and nearest bipolar Type I PNe yet discovered."
